In 1952, British built two colleges in Malaya. One was built in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and it was called Kota Bharu Teachers’ Training College. One more was built in Penang and it was called Penang Teachers’ Training College. When Kota Bharu Teacher’s Training College was closed, the student teachers moved to Penang. Then, the Penang Teachers’ Training College (PTTC) became Malayan Teachers’ Training College (MTTC), later known as Maktab Perguruan Persekutuan Pulau Pinang (MPPPP). Now, it is called Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Pulau Pinang (IPGKPP).
IPGKPP is located on Combee Hill, in a beautiful valley and surrounded by big and tall trees, that are as old as over hundred years. It is near George Town and at walking distance to malls like Penang Lotus and Udini. Student teachers could shop here. The banks, 7Eleven and the post office are near.
IPGKPP does not lack in facilities, especially for students. For example, the classrooms are big, spacious and well-equipped with air-conditioners, study tables and chairs. Besides, this institute has a library, that is packed with various hardcopies and latest books, including digital books. The café serves finger-licking delicious food at affordable prices.
Furthermore, coming to IPGKPP means you will be able to meet different kinds of interesting and special people. The lecturers at this institute are very helpful, friendly and comforting. Moreover, the seniors here are supportive, respectful, and ever willing to help. Here, you can find friends, who are trustworthy, reliable and fun-filled.
I believe that my promotion will definitely encourage you to come here. I can ensure you that you can create unforgettable memories by taking part in the events that will take place here. I hope you will experience a lot of fun and cherish every moment in IPGKPP.
